Greek is the first language that I ever really cared about. This makes it very special to me because it is the language that made me realize that I don't only love language as an abstract concept (which has always been true), but that I also really love the process of learning languages as well. This is especially funny because I stumbled on Greek basically by accident my first year of undergrad through a series of funny circumstances -- and then it defined my life for a beautiful magical few years.
